Description (January 22, 2007)

The Supreme Court - Designed to support the teaching and learning of the Supreme Court's impact on American history, the Web site ties video material from the series to social studies and civics education. The site includes standards-based lesson plans, downloadable video clips, interactive history games and other classroom resources. This is a companion website to the four part PBS series which will debut on Channel 13 on January 31.

Site in Depth / Curriculum Integration

  • Download the Discussion Guide (Soc. St. classes grades 9-12)
  • The section, For Educators, offers valuable resources for the classroom which include: interactive games, Lesson Plans for ages 9-18, and downloadable video segments.
  • Students research which cases argued before the Supreme Court affected the young people of the nation. The Court and Young People section of the Landmark Supreme Court Cases website is one resource to use. Create a timeline listing them.
