The Presidential Timeline of the Twentieth Century - The Presidential Timeline allows you to explore the digitized collections of the twelve Presidential Libraries of the National Archives. Among these are documents, photographs, audio recordings, and video relating to the events of the presidents’ lives. Educators can bring the resources of the Presidential Libraries into the classroom with educational activities provided on the site.

Site in Depth / Curriculum Integration

  • Students use the Interactive Timeline to explore the lives and administrations of the U.S. Presidents. Class can separate into groups and create a Wiki to report on each President and the significance of his achievements in office.
  • Incorporate the digitized assets found on the website in reports. Groups may create a wiki or Powerpoint as the end product.
  • Refer to the Educational Activities section to choose appropriate lesson plans for the class.
