Description (February 7, 2005)

Student World Assembly - The SWA is a non-governmental, non-partisan organization created to represent students globally. It provides a deliberative assembly where students around the world can exchange views, vote on global issues through online discussion forums and in annual conventions.

Classroom Integration

  • After researching have students list the pros and cons of thinking of themselves as global citizens.

  • Students prepare a PowerPoint presentation examining their choices of pressing global issues and engaging the class in dialogue on these issues.

  • Read and discuss entries in the Discussion Forum on the website. Within your class, create the opportunity for an "in class only" forum.
