Description (November 7, 2005)
Los Adaes -
Life at an Eighteenth Century Outpost explores the history and
daily life of an eighteenth-century Spanish fort and mission in
western Louisiana which served as the capital of the Province of
Texas for the Spanish, French and Caddo Indians who lived in the
area. Its interactive features allow you to investigate the historical
background of Los Adaes, reconstruct daily frontier life, and learn
what the site can still teach us about the culture, heritage, and history of the area.
