The shared services offered by the LHRIC are developed and deployed for optimum value to all of our member districts, large and small. These services include the purchase of Information Technology material, as well as supplying funding sources, specifically Installment Purchase Agreements (IPA's) to accommodate the unique financial requirements of schools.

The processes for purchasing and funding are constrained by state regulations and, in the case of funding a project through an IPA, constrained by the financial terms required by the banks underwriting the IPA's.

In consideration for receiving these valuable services, member Districts recognize the need to work within the constraints imposed on the process as described throughout this site.

Problems with Dell Optiplex GX270/280 & SX 270

  • Dell has acknowledged that some Optiplex GX270, GX280, AND SX270 systems, were manufactured with faulty capacitors. These systems exhibit various failures including intermittent rebooting.
  • The LHRIC has negotiated with Dell to reach a resolution for these systems. Dell has agreed to an extended warranty policy for these systems. The policy states that Dell will cover failed GX270/GX280/SX270 motherboards for 5 years from ship date or until January 31, 2008, whichever comes first.
  • Please work with your Regional Coordinator to resolve some of the hardware concerns. The repairs will be at no additional cost to your district.

For information about procuring services mentioned on this site, please contact your Regional Coordinator for specific needs you may have.
