System Features

Pentamation products are designed and developed as database products with query capabilities to all records on the database. Each product contains query screens that provide for access to the data by specification of data element, combination of data elements, or data element(s) parameters. All of the products are real-time, interactive systems.

Reporting and Analysis Tools

SunGard Pentamation has integrated the Cognos family of reporting and analysis tools with all of the OPEN SERIES applications. This suite of tools allows for database query and reporting from the desktop, multi-dimensional On-line Analytical Processing (OLAP) and Web Distribution. A GUI interface enables users to quickly and easily create any query, report or analysis while providing flexible distribution capabilities.

Graphical Student Management System(GSMS)

Graphical Student Management System(GSMS) is a full-featured graphical application that allows you to view and maintain information from multiple OPEN SERIES applications for the same student. The application provides a quick way to look at an individual student's overall performance.

Student Registration

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Student Registration System is designed to store complete student information. Registration information can be customized to meet the needs of your school district, and is used by other OPEN SERIES student modules, eliminating the need to enter this information more than once. Student information can be formatted and printed on reports using easy-to-use reporting features.

Student Scheduling

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Student Scheduling System guides district personnel through the entire scheduling process - from gathering student requests through building a master schedule and scheduling students.

Class Attendance

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Class Attendance System assists school personnel in recording, storing, and processing class attendance information. Class and period attendance information can be formatted and printed on reports using easy-to-use reporting features.

Daily Attendance

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Student Daily Attendance System is an on-line, interactive package designed to aid school personnel in recording, storing, and processing daily and cumulative student attendance information for the current school year. Teacher Workstation

SunGard Pentamation's WEB Teacher Workstation is a web-based package designed to allow teachers to quickly enter attendance, report card, interim progress information and discipline incidents. Teachers can also access selected student demographic and registration information. Teacher Workstation information can be customized to meet the needs of your school district, and is used by other OPEN SERIES student modules, eliminating the need to enter this information more than once.

Discipline

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Discipline System is an on-line, interactive system designed to help school administrators record, store, and process daily and cumulative discipline information. Demographic information is automatically read from the student registration database, discipline information can be formatted and printed.

Standard Third Party Interface

Standard Third Party Interface allows you to define interfaces, which can download or upload information stored in the OPEN SERIES database. Sites can define how information should be downloaded or uploaded to meet requirements of third party software or the sites' needs.

Report Cards

The OPEN SERIES Report Card System is an on-line, interactive system designed to help district personnel record, store, and process student report card information. Student report card information can be formatted and printed on reports.

Interim Progress Reporting

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Interim Progress Reporting System is a real-time, interactive package designed to help district personnel record, store, and process student interim progress report information. This comprehensive system generates not only progress cards or letters at mid-marking period and on demand, but also interim period reports for district use. Student interim progress information can be formatted and printed.

Student Transcripts

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Student Transcript System is an on-line, interactive package designed to aid district personnel with the process of academic counseling, monitoring graduation requirements, and generating academic transcripts. Student transcript information can be formatted and printed on reports.

Medical Records

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Medical Records System is an on-line, interactive package designed to store centralized student medical information such as immunization records, physical exam results, growth results, vision exam results, hearing exam results, dental check-up dates, scoliosis exam dates, height/weight records, office visits, medications required, medicines issued, miscellaneous health-related information, and medical alerts and disabilities. Student medical information can be printed on reports.

Longitudinal Testing Database

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Longitudinal Testing Database package provides a method of storing test scores for a student. Test scores may be hand-keyed or may read automatically from research tapes provided by publishers such as McGraw-Hill. Student test scores can be formatted and printed on reports.

Locker Assignments

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Student Locker Assignment package is an on-line, interactive package designed to store information on lockers and to assign lockers to students. Student locker information can be formatted and printed on reports.

Student Inquiry Snapshot

Student Inquiry Snapshot is a unique module that integrates all student data into an easy-to-use query and update system for school administrators. The Hardcopy feature (i.e. the print screen capability) is particularly useful for parent conferences and counseling sessions.

Student Master Schedule Builder

SunGard Pentamation's OPEN SERIES Student Master Schedule Builder is a real-time, interactive package designed to automatically schedule courses into class periods while assigning them to teachers and rooms based on possible meeting codes and the allocation of resources. The Master Schedule Builder, along with the rest of the OPEN SERIES Scheduling System, helps district personnel with the entire scheduling process - from gathering student requests through building a master schedule to scheduling students.
