Embodied Leadership:
Inspiration through Example
TOPICS November 29 - Breaking through limitations
"There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you
are capable of living."
- Nelson Mandela
From a foundation of rediscovery of our purpose and recognizing our gifts, we
examine how to get the most out of our professional life so that we can inspire others
to get the most out of theirs. We explore areas of limitations and constraints in your
work and introduce a simple practice and set of tools to identify and overcome any
obstacle you find.
January 5, 2006 - Impeccable trustworthiness
"Trust others and they will be true to you; treat them greatly, and they will show themselves
great".
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
One of the most frustrating aspects of our work experience is feeling that we can't
rely on others to do what they say. Yet as leaders, we are called upon to place trust
in those with whom we work. We explore during this session the full range of
elements that comprise commitments and trust. We offer an approach that allows
you to both maintain balance and fulfill all that you have agreed to, and support
others in doing the same.
February 14 - Leadership and the power of language
"If you wish to know the mind of a man, listen to his words."
- Chinese proverb
As leaders, effective communication is one of the most important competencies we
can develop. In this session, we look at how perceptions are developed and the
power of language in creating these perceptions. Through practical application
during this session, you feel a new confidence in your ability to be clearly
understood.
March 21 - Bringing out the best in others
"When I approach a child he inspires in me two sentiments:
Tenderness for what he is, and respect for what he may become."
We have all been impacted by leaders who helped us see that we could do more
than we imagined. In this session, we develop an understanding of how great
leaders bring out the best in those they serve. You have the opportunity to practice
these characteristics during this session and feel how you create a bold vision and
inspiration for those for whom you are a model of leadership.
